Newsletter January 2026
Happy New Year and welcome to the January edition of our Carer Friendly Newsletter. As we step into a new year, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to all unpaid Carers for everything you do every day.
In this Newsletter, we’re shining a light on support for Carers in military families. Caring within the Armed Forces community can bring unique experiences and pressures, and we’re pleased to share information about the services and organisations in Wiltshire that are here to support both Carers and their families.
We’re also reminding Carers to book onto one of our Carer ID Card Discovery Sessions. These friendly sessions show you how to make the most of your Carers ID Card, from accessing discounts and local offers to using it as recognised Carer identification. Whether you’re new to the card or have had it for a while, there’s always something new to discover.
We hope this newsletter helps you feel informed, valued, and supported as the year begins. As always, you’re not alone and we’re here to support you every step of the way.

“Caring for a loved one is an act of deep commitment — but it can also be exhausting, overwhelming, and emotionally heavy. As someone who spent many years as an unpaid Carer for my own family, I know how easily your own wellbeing can slip to the bottom of the list. The days blur, the responsibilities stack up, and even small sensory stresses can feel too much.
Burnt Orchid Organics was born from that experience.
I wanted to create something gentle, grounding, and accessible for people who give so much of themselves. My handcrafted sensory‑safe sprays are designed for Carers who may be navigating fatigue, neurodivergence, anxiety, or simply the constant ‘on‑ness’ of supporting someone else. Every blend is formulated with soft, breathable botanicals—never overpowering, never synthetic—so they can offer calm without adding to sensory load.
These sprays are quick to use, easy to carry, and ideal for those tiny pockets of time Carers rarely get: a moment before a medical appointment, a pause after a challenging conversation, or a breath of clarity before the next task begins.
Burnt Orchid Organics exists to remind Carers that they deserve care too. A minute of grounding can make a meaningful difference—and sometimes, that minute is all we have.” – Annette
Military Personnel and Family Support
Military life can bring pride, purpose and community, but it can also bring real pressures for families. Frequent moves, time apart, changing routines, and the impact of injury, illness or trauma can all affect everyday life. In Wiltshire, there is a strong network of organisations working together so that serving personnel, veterans, and their loved ones can access the right help at the right time.
Dorset and Wiltshire Online Discovery Sessions
Online Carers Card Discovery Sessions are taking place on the 24th February 2026 at 1.30pm and 6.30pm. Join us and discover how to get and use the card, why it’s important, the exclusive benefits and discounts it offers and how we raise awareness of Carers in the community.
